If you're using Windows 7 or Windows 8 Preview then you've snipping tool
provided with the windows. You can use Snipping Tool to take a screen
shot, or snip, of any object on your screen, and then you can make
little change, mark, save and email it to someone.
You can capture the following types of snips:
- Free-form Snip: Draw a free-form shape around an object.
- Rectangular Snip: Drag the cursor around an object to form a rectangle.
- Window Snip: This option will allow you to capture the the full window.
- Full-screen Snip: This will allow you to capture the entire screen.
- Go to the start menu and type snip.
- Then it will appear in the list.
You can also make a handy shortcut of it. Just right click on the snipping tool and select Pin to Taskbar.
Funny Trick: If you need to reduce the size of a large image then you
can just take the screenshot of that image. For example if your image is
3 or 4 MB in size, you can reduce it to 40 to 50 KB by taking a screen
shot using snipping tool.
